Add a growing office presence and you get a parking market with two peaks: office demand on weekday days, and a second, heavier demand wave on weekend evenings when the restaurants fill.

Garages and lots line Randolph, Lake, Morgan, and Halsted. Street spaces exist on the side streets but turn over constantly, and many blocks have residential permit restrictions in the surrounding blocks — read the signage carefully, towing is active here.

What to expect to pay, and when to arrive

For a weekend dinner on Randolph Street, budget roughly $15–$30 depending on how close you want to be. The garages closest to Restaurant Row fill first on Friday and Saturday nights — arriving before your reservation window, or pre-booking, is the difference between parking and circling. Weekday daytime follows the standard office pattern, with early-bird specials available if you arrive before 9 AM.

A useful hack: the area east toward the Loop has more garage capacity and lower evening rates than the heart of Fulton Market, and the walk along Randolph is short and lively.

The transit alternative

The CTA Green and Pink Lines stop at Morgan, two blocks from Fulton Market's core, and the 9 Ashland and X9 Ashland Express buses run along the neighborhood's west edge. From the Loop it is a 15-minute walk or a two-stop train ride.

If your evening includes drinks, transit or rideshare is the responsible call — and Fulton Market's rideshare volume means pickups are quick, though surge pricing applies at closing time. For dinner-only trips, a pre-booked garage spot near Randolph is usually the fastest door-to-door option.
